Quake II is my favorite with its driving instrumental metal sound. It is also backed up by many good memories of playing 4 player split screen.
What is your favorite?
Also if you could, post good instrumental sound tracks. I am trying to use them to help my focus.

My favorites are Road Rash on the PS1/3DO/PC, ATV Offroad Fury on the PS2, and Burnout 3.
Oh, Mafia II and III are up there as well. But Road Rash and ATV Offroad Fury were a big part of what shaped my musical tastes.

I loved going out of bounds, as did everyone else who played it. I also loved trying to go through those...shit, I don’t know what to call them. You had to jump between them, and it was real easy to crash going through them. They were banked on the sides, too.

For original music, I liked both Dragon Age: Inquisition and the original Mass Effect. The Dawn Will Come is just... chilling.
Going a little more old-school, FireFight(1995) had waaay too good a soundtrack for an isometric semi-bullet hell arcade game:
Honorable mentions, Microsoft
Hellbender
and Sierra/Dynamix A:10 Tank-killer
For soundrack composed of existing music, Brutal Legend was aces.

The Fire Fight soundtrack is really good. I’ll have to try the other ones. Dragon Age: Origins is the only one I played. I don’t remember the soundtrack at all.

While I’m strip-mining my childhood, you might also try Whiplash/Fatal Racing and MegaRace. Possibly also Age of Mythology.

I loved the Quake II soundtrack, thanks for reminding me. These are a couple of my favorites for video game sound tracks:

I guess I am old too. I played this a lot. Grindelwald is my favorite GT racetrack. No true straights just lots of curves that were great to sting together in something like a GT40.

I’d have to go with Secret of Mana (a.k.a. the best Final Fantasy). The diversity and complexity of the compositions in partner with the vibrant visuals made for one of the most aesthetically satisfying games of its era IMO.
Honorable Mentions:
Stubbs the Zombie - an unexpectedly high quality collection of 50s and 60s covers by the likes of Cake, Death Cab, The Flaming Lips, and others. Pity there are’t more tracks.
Jet Set Radio Future - I have no idea how they managed to make this strange and eclectic of a soundtrack so enjoyable, but I love it. Yes, including Birthday Cake... *ducks*

Oh. Ohhhh. This post is very relevant to my needs. Very relevant. Please pardon my excitement:
MW2 is my favorite that has the Hans Zimmer touch
Command and Conquer Red Alert and Tiberian Sun are probably my favorite PC soundtracks of the olden times.
DOOM (2016) and Prey are my more recent loves
Also, believe it or not, the soundtrack from League of Legends is really actually not bad. Again done by one of Hans’ cohorts.
Furi is spectacular for the synthwave (Waveshaper, Carpenter Brut, etc) and Blood Dragon of course for Powerglove’s mastery of the art. Hell even Prey has awesome synth sounds.
Deus Ex: HR and MD are great as well. Very atmospheric.
All in though the original Outrun for Genesis. Passing Breeze or Magical Sound Shower. All day.
